Sean J. Quinn

Sean J. Quinn joined the firm in 2024 as a partner. He concentrates his practice on intellectual property portfolio development and management and complex commercial litigation. Regarding his intellectual property portfolio practice, Sean actively manages global trademark portfolios and develops brand building and protection strategies for his clients. He has counseled Fortune 500 corporations, small companies, and individuals regarding the procurement, enforcement, and licensing of intellectual property rights. He has also conducted sophisticated trademark searches and rendered clearance and infringement opinions involving both copyright and trademark law.

Regarding his litigation practice, Sean handles litigation involving trademark, trade dress, copyright, trade secret, and unfair competition claims across the country. He also handles complex commercial litigation involving breach of contract, fraud, employment, and shareholder disputes.

Sean earned his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and went on to obtain his M.Ed. at DePaul University. He holds a J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law’s Intellectual Property Law Program.

 Prior to joining the firm, Sean served as a partner at Smith Gambrell & Russell (formerly Freeborn & Peters) in Chicago. Outside of work, Sean enjoys playing golf, tennis, and chess, and watching his three daughters’ sporting events and musical performances.
